Richard (Richie) J. Dunkin, 83, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday surrounded by his loving family after a short illness.
Richie was a life-long resident of Hoboken and Union City and is well known for his service to the community as the original owner of Richie D. Sewer Drain Cleaning here in Hudson County. His friendly positive attitude will be sorely missed by all his many friends and clients as he always performed a valiant and much needed service to our community. He also served in the US Army from 1957-1959. Richard is the loving Life Partner of Mark E. Hamilton, and former husband of Rosalie Dunkin, devoted father of three Children; Randy Dunkin {Barbara}, Rosemary Fiore {Victor}, and Ronald Dunkin, also survived by Eight Loving Grandchildren and Seven Cherished Great Grandchildren. Richard is also survived by his brother George Dunkin and his Predeceased twin sister Betty as well as his late Brothers and Sisters Louise, Thomas, Jerry, Florence, Alice, Joe and
Bobby Dunkin.
Visitation for Richie will be on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at the Lawton-Turso Funeral Home (www.lawtonturso.com), corner of 7th and Washington Streets in Hoboken, parking on 7th Street. A Funeral Mass for Richard will be offered at 10:00 AM on Monday at the St. Francis Church on 3rd and Jefferson Streets in Hoboken. Cremation private.
