Kevin Robert Moore – June 25, 2018

Kevin Robert Moore, 43, passed away on June 25, 2018 at home in Hoboken, NJ. Kevin was born in Abington, PA to Bob and Nancy Moore on July 11, 1974. He went to high school at Plumstead Christian School, graduating in 1992. He went on to earn a B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from LeTourneau University in 1997. Kevin worked as an Electrical Engineer with Stantec, charting his career with firms including Syska Hennessy Group, Alliance Telecommunications Contractors Inc., AKF Group, HDR Inc., and Cosentini as he grew in experience achieving the role of Senior Electrical Engineer with Stantec.

He was a lover of eclectic art & music, a coffee connoisseur, carried a passion for social justice, and was ever interested in history, architecture, film, ethnic foods, and deep, spiritual conversations. Kevin served and spiritually impacted others by volunteering at the Manhattan-based Forefront Church and The Father’s Heart Ministries.

Two threads running through the various seasons of Kevin’s life at home, at work, and at church include his gentleness and his generosity. He was fiercely determined and at times opinionated, yet somehow still humble and unassuming. He deeply valued people and served them, often behind the scenes, without mention or recognition. Though an orderly, tie-wearing engineer,
Kevin somehow also managed to be trend-setting, indie-rock loving, and fun. Friends and family have often commented on his infectiously boisterous laugh, which came when you least expected it. Kevin was generous to others with his time, his apartment space, and his resources. Though he didn’t have kids of his own, he was notorious for spoiling his nieces and nephews at birthdays, Christmas, and graduations. Among his friends and family, Kevin was widely considered to be a man who pursued Jesus, gave of himself for others, and brought out the best in those around him.

Kevin is survived by his father and mother, Bob and Nancy Moore of Plymouth Meeting, PA, his brother, Jeremy Moore of Clinton, NJ, his sister, Kimberly Chapin of Plymouth Meeting, PA, and his nieces/nephews Emily, Kaia, Julia, Leah, & Hudson Moore of Clinton, NJ and Sam, Natalie, & Ethan Chapin of Plymouth Meeting, PA. Kevin’s family loved him, will miss him greatly, and look forward to being reunited with him, whether by death (Luke 23:43) or when Jesus returns to make all things new (Revelation 21:5).

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to http://www.fathersheartnyc.org, where Kevin gave of his time in service of others. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Lawton-Turso Funeral Home, Hoboken Elks Lodge, South Ridge Community Church, Faith Church of Worcester, and the community of friends and loved ones who have surrounded Kevin’s family with support and upheld them with prayer during this challenging time of his sudden passing.
