Joseph Thomas Gualario, 65, passed away Thursday after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. Joseph was a proud life-long Hoboken resident and will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 42 years, Grace Gualario (nee Armenio), his daughters Lea DiVincent and her husband Stephen, Christina Gualario and her fiancé, Mark Mautone. A great joy in his life were his three grandchildren, Sophia Hope, Stephen Arthur, and Christian Joseph. Also surviving are his brothers Anthony and his wife Diana, James and his wife Linda, Michael and his partner Lisa, and John. Joe also loved his nieces and nephews: Michael, Tony, James, Lindsay, and Erica.
He was employed with Wakefern Food Corporation (Elizabeth, NJ) for 32 years until his retirement in 2014. He enjoyed summers spent at the Jersey Shore, traveling to Florida to visit with his family and walking his dogs. Besides playing football in high school as a Hoboken Redwing, Joe loved watching professional and college football, especially when his favorite teams Michigan University and the New York Giants played.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Saints Peter & Paul Church located on 4th and Hudson Streets in Hoboken. Burial immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington NJ.
