Manuel Almonte – February 28, 2019

Manuel Almonte, 54, of Jersey City passed away suddenly on February 28, 2019.

Born to Virginia Almonte and Manuel Gratero in Santo Domingo on June 3, 1964, he became well known for his work as a GHI employee for over 28 years. Known for enjoying time in nature, Manuel could be found camping, fishing, and swimming. He also enjoyed busting moves while break dancing and listening to his music, practicing karate, or kicking back with his favorite action films and superheroes.

Manuel’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him, especially his loving wife, Ivonne Delgado, his father, Manuel, his siblings, Maxima Gratero, Secundino Gratero, and Marialena Gratero, his children, Ashlee C. Dustin, Isabel Almonte, and Kaitlyn Almonte, his grandchildren, Victor Done and Juniper Dutson, his cousins, including Becky Fernandez, and many other dear friends and extended family members. Manuel has joined his mother in peace in the hearts of his family. 


Visitation for Manuel will be on Tuesday, March 5th from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (Washington and Seventh Streets, parking on Seventh). A Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, March 6th at St. Ann Catholic Church on Seventh and Jefferson Streets at 11:00 AM. Cremation private.
