Maria Colón, 80, of Hoboken, passed into eternal rest on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
Born to Elisa Cruz and Jose Colón on January 6, 1939, Maria grew in love and shared her heart in her work, in her cooking, and especially with her family. Working over 25 years at St. Mary’s Hospital, Maria developed many lifelong friends. While she was skilled at making many dishes, no one could turn down her pasteles, and she was known for her artful touch at knitting.
Maria joins her son, Angel Colón in the hearts of her family and will be remembered by her children, Hector Colón, Willie Colón, Orlando Colón, Tony Colón, and Christine Arias (nee. Colón), as well as her grandchildren, Leanora, Raymond, Adam, Heather, Sabrina, Samantha, Stephanie, Shelcie, Nicole, Alyssa, Ralph, Gianna, and Alexa.
Visitation for Maria will be on Tuesday, March 26th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (Washington and Seventh Streets, parking on Seventh). A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Wednesday March 27th (please arrive by 9:30 AM). Burial will follow immediately after at Arlington Cemetery in Kearny.
