Iris M. Perez, 79, of Hoboken, passed away on May 19, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Barceloneta on June 4, 1939 to Francisco Perez Torres and Nemecia Maisonet Riveria, Iris grew surrounded by love, family, and music. Falling in love with Hector Lopez, they started their family on those same values. Beloved as a mother and grandmother, Iris was known for her passion for salsa music and Bachata Music and as the firm Matriarch keeping watch over her beloved children and grandchildren.

Joining her dear husband, Hector Lopez Sr. in the hearts of her family, Iris will be remembered always by her sons, Juan A. Mercado, Hector Lopez Jr., and Richard Lopez, her grandchildren, Juan Mercado Jr., Crystal Mercado, Jonathan Lopez, Hector Lopez III, Ethan Gil Lopez, Daysha Lopez, and Aaron Lopez, and her great grandchildren, Ciara Rodriguez, Xylia Mercado, Kaisen Lopez, and Ava’le Lopez.

Visitation for Iris will be on Tuesday May 21^st from 4:00-8:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (corner of Washington and Seventh Streets, parking on Seventh). A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Joseph’s Church (60 Monroe Street) in Hoboken on Wednesday, May 22^nd at 9:30 AM with burial to follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ (1500 Stuyvesant Ave).
