Maria Pia Tambone (nee Epifani), 69, of Montvale, NJ and recently of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on August 29, 2019. Born to Giovanni and Anna Epifani in Pulsano, Taranto, Italy on June 21, 1950, Maria Pia grew up and moved to Astoria, Queens, NY in 1969. She met her dearly beloved husband, Vincenzo Tambone and the two were married on April 25, 1971 building a life together in Montvale, NJ. Surrounded by their loving family in New Jersey, the two enjoyed many years in the Garden State until moving to Phoenix, AZ to enjoy their retirement in 2003. A warm heart to her dear family, Maria Pia was a creative soul enjoying time drawing, painting, and cooking. Maria Pia’s warmth for her family also included her beloved pets including Lucky (deceased), Zucchie (deceased) Max, Coco, and several birds.
Maria Pia’s memory will be cherished always by her devoted husband, Vincenzo Tambone, her siblings including Franco Epifani and sister-in-law Carmela, Achille Epifani and sister-in-law Rhonda, Cosima Epifani, and Rosa Tambone (sister-in-law), her nephews and nieces including, Vincenzo Epifani and girlfriend, Ashlie Scara, Gregorio Tambone and wife Marci, Francesca Tambone-Puzio and husband John, Lucia Wehr and husband Richard, Annamaria Tambone Sainclivier and husband Frederic Julien, Lisa Epifani and husband, Sean Black, Antonietta Epifani, Annamaria Epifani Rumschik and husband, Bill, Frankie Epifani and wife, Sarrah, her grandnephews and grandnieces including, Michael, Isabella, Vincenzo and Anthony Tambone, Francesca Wehr, Aidan and Mara Sainclivier, Billy and Alex Rumschik, Alavondrea Epifani, and Taylor, Christian, and Jonny Scara.
Maria Pia rejoins her beloved family in God’s peace including her parents, her aunt Victoria Zaccaria, her niece Gianna Epifani, her father-in-law and mother-in-law Gregorio and Francesca Tambone, her sister-in-law Maria Tambone, and her brothers-in-law Michele Tambone and Tommaso Tambone.
Visitation for Maria Pia will be held at 9:30 AM on Thursday, September 5, 2019 in Our Lady Mother of the Church in Woodcliff Lake (209 Woodcliff Ave, Woodcliff Lake, NJ 07677). A Funeral Mass will follow immediately at 10:30 AM at the church. Following the Mass, entombment will take place at Garden of Memories Mausoleum in the Township of Washington (300 Soldier Hill Rd, Township of Washington, NJ 07676).

My Dear Maria, it makes me cry to know you’re not here but it makes me smile to know where you’ve gone. I love you to the moon and back. Always have, always will. May you eternally rest in peace.
