
Grace Armenio, 99, (nee Fabrizio) of Hoboken, NJ passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 17, 2019.
Grace was born in Jersey City to Francesco and Concetta Fabrizio (nee DiNicola). Growing up in the Marion section, she graduated from Dickinson High School and went on to work for Western Electric, in Kearny, where she met her husband, Sam, of 61 years. She later became a junior library assistant for the Hoboken Public Library for 19 years and retired in 1985. Grace enjoyed her home down the Jersey Shore, trips to Atlantic City, reading, completing crossword puzzles, and was a spectacular dancer. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved family gatherings.
Grace is predeceased by her husband, Samuel Vincent Armenio, her siblings, Romeo, Annette, Raymond and Arthur, and her son-in-law, Joseph Gualario.
Grace’s memory will be cherished by her family including her three loving daughters, Janet Meissner and her husband Joseph, Grace Gualario, and Barbara Fitzgibbons and her husband Jude, as well as the pride of her life; her grandchildren including Erica O’Brien and her husband Richard, Lea DiVincent and her husband Stephen, and Christina Mautone and her husband Mark, and her beloved great-grandchildren, to whom she was known as “Gigi,” including Richard, Nicholas, Sophia, Amelia, Stephen, and Christian and many dear nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 20th from 3:00- 8:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (Corner of Washington and Seventh Streets, parking on Seventh). A Funeral Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Grace Church (Corner of 4th and Willow Streets) on Saturday, September 21st at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations in Grace’s memory to either the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
