Maureen P. Johnson – October 30, 2019

Maureen Patricia Johnson, age 76, of Weehawken, NJ, formerly of Hoboken, NJ passed away on October 30, 2019.

Born to William and Martha O’Brien on June 9, 1943 in Hoboken, Maureen grew and excelled at Track and Field, graduating from A.J. Demarest High School. Eventually she would meet the love of her life, Edward S. Johnson Sr. and the two built a home of love welcoming seven children. Throughout her years working at the Uptown Café and later Stevens Institute of Technology, the greatest light in Maureen’s life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.   

Maureen has joined her beloved husband Edward, her loving parents William and Martha, and her dear brother John “Jackie” O’Brien in the hearts of her family. Maureen’s memory will be treasured by her children including Patricia Brando and husband Michael, Diane Caban and husband Juan, William Johnson, Edward S. Johnson Jr., John Johnson, Richard Johnson and wife Karen, Michael Johnson and fiancé Alicia, her beloved 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, her dear siblings, Richard O’Brien and Sharon Czornomor and husband Jerry, her loving aunt Dorothy Moran, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.


Visitation for Maureen P. Johnson will be on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (corner of Washington and Seventh Streets, parking on Seventh). A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at St. Ann’s Church in Hoboken (Corner of Seventh & Jefferson). Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, NJ.

    my condolences to all of you.. today & tomarrow are 2 very special days for maureen johnson.. today marks all saints day.. think of her a true saint from god our father, jesus our son-whos filled with the holy spirit. Amen i say to you, because tomarrow is all souls day.. where as after tomarrows funeral, maureens soul goes up to heaven,at the right hand of our father,where she will live forever with no pain & suffering.. she may have left all of us from this life, but the next life is even better.. just because we dont know each other by name, does not matter.. we are all gods children doing our good deeds from our heart-with love,happyness,encouragements.. which i know mrs johnson had… which than, comes to my closing- to my union brother mike johnson, who i have worked with for afew years now, always stand tall- as you always do. & be strong.. youll always have an extra shoulder to lean on, if needed, by me !!!
