Jennie Montañez Vargas, 62, passed away on March 12, 2020.

Born to John and Maria Vargas on March 31, 1957, Jennie grew and served her community as a police dispatcher and police clerk typist for the Hoboken Police Department. Jennie built a family of love with her dear husband, Martin Peralta, and were blessed with daughters, Dayna and Ireina Peralta, and granddaughters, Jalissa and Alyanna Genao. She treasured time spent with her family and could be found dancing, singing, and being the life of the party whenever friends and loved ones gathered.

Jennie rejoins her parents, and two sisters, Elba Burgos and Wanda Valentin, in the hearts of her family. Her memory will be honored by her devoted husband, loving daughters, cherished granddaughters, and dearest sisters Maria Vargas and Jennie’s twin, Frances Medina (5 minutes younger), and many dear friends.

Visitation for Jennie Montañez Vargas will be on Sunday, March 15, 2020 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (corner of Washington and Seventh Streets, parking on Seventh). A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2020 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
