David Moya – March 26, 2020

David Moya, 59, of Jersey City, passed away on March 26, 2020.

Born to Bernadina Torres and Prudencio Moya on April 5, 1960, David grew to be a loving and faithful husband, son, brother, and uncle to his family and a caring heart to those he served in the Jersey City Housing Authority where he worked for many years. Devoted to his faith and community, David was a fixture in his church and would pray for and help those in need and took time to show his thankfulness for all he enjoyed in life. He was blessed with a creative passion and loved to play his saxophone, trumpet, or guitar, as well as taking time outdoors riding his bike or going fishing. David’s faith as a Christian taught him that all is possible through God, which he reflected in helping others and in his favorite phrase, “Que Dios Te Bendiga” – God Bless You. David’s joy in life was like a light to all around him, lighting the way for others, a beacon of God’s love in the world.

As David joins his ancestors in the loving embrace of God, his memory will be honored by the many who love him including his devoted wife of 23 years, Dora Moya, his beloved parents, his dear step-father Santiago Alba, his beloved brothers, Edwin Moya, Saul Moya, and Jose Moya, his cherished nieces and nephews including, Melissa Moya, Janice Lopez, Niurka Moya, Edwin Moya Jr., Michael Moya, and Sebastian Moya as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved church family.

Services for David will be private. When information becomes available on public gatherings to celebrate David’s life, this page will be updated with that information.

  3. Hi Dora

I’m so sorry I cannot be with you at this time.

The homegoing of one who we love so dearly is sad but we should rejoice and
Praise God that David knew our Savior and we will all meet again someday

David was a kind hearted man ,always cared about others and about the youth, i remember him taking the task of helping keep the youth in Gods path, becoming a royal ranger leader , he thought us the word and also made it as fun as possible, you forever will be missed but we celebrate because we know you are in heaven.

    Thank you for everything!

  6. David siempre fue lo mejor le conocis en 1990 desdes el principio yo decia que el era un niño atrapado en un cuerpo de un hombre fue lo mas inocente que es conocido.

  7. Dora,
I am still in shock & my heart aches for you. I just can’t believe it. David was such a sweet guy. How horrible and permanently devastating that he was taken from you. And what a horrible way that it happened. I am so very sorry.

I want you to know you are always in my and my family’s hearts. We cherish you more than we can say.

I am so sorry that we cannot be there to give you a great big hug. It is so terrible that you cannot even have a normal funeral and get lots of love to help you through this most horrible time. You don’t deserve this, Dora. Please know that even though we live so far away, we are praying for you from a distance and loving you even more now.

    Call any time.
    Love always,
    Cheryl

Compartimos viajes. Nos fuimos de aventuras.
Has sido mi héroe pero me has presentado a 2 lados del reino cristiano.
    Me inspiraste a escribir
    Se inteligente.
Su vida era parte de mí y su familia.
Pero no estoy listo para decir adiós a mi mentor. 😭. DEP.
