Mehdi Lahi – December 31, 2020

Mehdi Lahi, 69, of Dumont, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020.

Mehdi was born in 1951 in Shkoder, Albania. He grew to be a devoted father, grandfather, brother, son and friend. He lived most of his life in Shkoder, Albania before coming to the United States and residing in Dumont, NJ for the past twenty years. Mehdi was well-known in Hoboken working for years at Benny Tudino’s Pizzeria. He was a gentle soul who loved to help everyone around him. He adored spending time with his grandchildren Dante, Luan, and later Adrian. He loved American football and cheering on the NY Giants as a devoted fan.

Mehdi is survived by his wife Teuta, his children, Arens and Eriola, his grandchildren, Dante, Luan, and Adrian, and his brother and sister.


Visitation for Mehdi will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (Corner of Seventh & Washington Streets, Parking on Seventh). On Monday, January 4, 2021 at 9:30 AM the family will gather at the funeral home to leave for the burial.   • All people attending must wear a mask while inside and around the outside of the funeral home.
  • For safety, the number of attendees indoors will be limited to a reduced capacity according to currently allowed levels and shall be monitored by the management.
