Concetta “Jean” Lenzo – January 11, 2021

Concetta “Jean” Lenzo (nee Colacurcio), 94, of Long Branch passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021 surrounded by her loving children.

Born in Jersey City, to Angela (nee Botti) and Stefano Colacurcio in 1926, Concetta grew and shared over 50 years of devoted marriage with her husband Lawrence as they nurtured their children. Concetta was an accomplished cook working in NJCU in Jersey City and later Shore Regional High School. Her culinary passion extended beyond work in thoughtful meals made for family and friends, which meant the world to her. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and playing rounds of cards.

A loving mother and grandmother, Concetta’s memory will be honored by her beloved children, Mark (Donna), Stephanie Bernstein (Jeffrey), her daughter-in-law Angela, her sister-in-law Barbara, her cherished grandchildren, Lauren (Mario) and Angela, and great-grandchildren, Luciano and Carmelo, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Concetta has joined her beloved husband Lawrence, her cherished sons, Larry and Andrew, as well as her siblings, Ralph (Connie), Louis (Irene), Steve (Yolanda) and William (Dottie), and Ann (John) in the peace of God’s love.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Concetta’s memory of Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.


Visitation for Concetta will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (Corner of Seventh & Washington Streets, Parking on Seventh). A Funeral Mass will be offered at 9:00 AM on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at St. Aedan’s Catholic Church in Jersey City (800 Bergen Ave.) Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

For the safety of in-person attendees and our staff, gatherings at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home will currently follow the latest guidelines as described here:

  • All people attending must wear a mask while inside and around the outside of the funeral home.
  • For safety, the number of attendees indoors will be limited to a reduced capacity according to currently allowed levels and shall be monitored by the management.
  • All attendees must practice social distancing while paying their respects.

My Deepest Condolences to the Lenzo, Bernstein , Paparozzi Family , How do I say how much I Loved to call Mama Lenzo My Mama , she was like my Second Mom for over 35 years, She was the Italian mom we know and Loved .Mama always made me feel like family , Every time you walked in her Home, you always Kissed her Hello and Kiss her goodbye and she would always say { you know I love you } She loved to go Shopping And she would get the best deals, No words can express how much I will miss her But, I know she is finally dancing and playing Card with Pop Larry, Andrew and Larry I will forever carry her in my heart, Thank you for all the Sweet Memories
