
Reina M. Quinones, 84, of Jersey City, passed away on January 11, 2021.
Born to Amalia Negron and Juan de la Cruz Carrera on June 1, 1936, Reina was raised in Utuado Puerto Rico and came to New Jersey in 1957, eventually teaching herself English by watching television. She was a committed and loving mother raising her six children; family was a number one priority.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and many in her family and dear friends. Reina’s beloved children include, Dalila (Lilly) Quinones, Nydia Cruz (nee Quinones), Luz I. Colon (nee Quinones), Margarita Quinones, Juan C. Quinones, and Angel L. Quinones as well as her cherished legacy of fourteen grand-children and fifteen great-grandchildren. Her dear siblings also honor her memory including Gloria Negron, Damian Carrera, and Luis Carrera.
Visitation for Reina will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (Corner of Seventh & Washington Streets, Parking on Seventh).
For the safety of in-person attendees and our staff, gatherings at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home will currently follow the latest guidelines as described here:
- All people attending must wear a mask while inside and around the outside of the funeral home.
- For safety, the number of attendees indoors will be limited to a reduced capacity according to currently allowed levels and shall be monitored by the management.
- All attendees must practice social distancing while paying their respects.
