Anna Giudici – January 15, 2022

Anna Giudici, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at her home in Freehold at the age of 95.

Anna was the daughter of Giovanni and Antonia (nee: Sattalich) Knezich (Nesi) of San Giacomo di Nerasine, where she was born on September 21, 1926.

Mrs. Giudici arrived in the US in 1959 as a refugee and settled with her family in Hoboken in 1960. For fifty-one years, Anna was active in the Hoboken community. After serving as secretary in municipal government and a term in a hard labor camp building a railroad, she escaped the former Yugoslavia. Her employment in the US was working as a part-time sales clerk. A fixture at the Hoboken Adult School in the Public Library in her early years, she reveled in pursuing her passion for sewing and helping others improve their sewing skills. This passion continued when she moved to a senior residential facility, performing alterations for residents and staff alike which allowed the opportunity for altering a wedding dress and embroidering baptismal bibs. Mrs. Giudici was also a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church in Hoboken and member of the Stevens Institute of Technology Parents’ Association.

She is survived by her sons, Giuliano and Mario, their wives, Rebecca and Donna, granddaughters Bianca and Sophia, and great-granddaughter Arete Penelope.

She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Fulvio and her older brother Nicolo.

Visitation for Anna will be on Monday, January 24, 2022 from 8:30 – 10:30am at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home in Hoboken (Corner of Washington and Seventh Streets).
