Julio Enrique Segarra Jr., of Hoboken, NJ, known as “Pito”, passed away on June 23, 2022.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, on October 29, 1963, Pito was a devoted family man. He is survived by his son Richard E. Segarra and four daughters, Suly M. Segarra, Bridget V. Segarra, Ashley C. Segarra, and Carolina Segarra. An amazing grandfather to six grandchildren, Savannah, Richard, Adrianna, Alexandria, Xavier, and Lorenzo. He was the son of Concepcion Colon and Julio E. Segarra Sr. (both deceased), a beloved brother to eight siblings, Rosemary, Aurelia (deceased), Carmen, Elena, Elizabeth, Cynthia, Jose, and Carolyn and a vast extended family.
He was a father figure to many and a friend to everyone.
A man of many talents. He was a jokester who enjoyed making people laugh, an avid swimmer in his teens, and a diehard Yankees fan, but he is best known for being the “Neighborhood Mechanic.” It was never a surprise when you saw him or stopped by to say hello, to see him under the hood of a car helping a friend or family member in need. He helped the people in his community, never leaving anyone behind. He shared what he had with anyone who needed it.
They say the measure of a man is not how great his faith is but how great his love is. Pito’s heart was full of love, and he always gave of himself with the best intentions.
Visitation for Julio will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Lawton-Turso Funeral Home at 633 Washington Street, Hoboken (Corner of Washington and Seventh Streets, parking on Seventh). A prayer service will take place in the Funeral Home before proceeding to Hoboken Cemetery (5500 Tonnelle Ave, North Bergen, NJ 07047) for burial.
My dear brother, you will be missed beyond measure. I promise to keep your memory alive by remembering all of the great times we shared throughout our lives. And to your children, I promise to look after them and be there for them always. Thank you for being an amazing brother and father figure to me, god father and uncle to Georgia. We love you forever.
Until I see you again… Bendicion.
