Claudette Zaccardi – February 11, 2023

Claudette Mary Geraud  Zaccardi of Jersey City, New Jersey passed away on February 11, 2023

Claudette was born at Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey on November 20, 1953 to the late Helen and Peter  Geraud.   Claudette attended St. Anne’s Grammar School and went on to graduate from Dickinson High School.   Claudette received her college degree from Jersey City State College.  She also had a successful career working for the Mayor of Union City in several capacities.  While in Union City, Claudette met the love of her life Stephen Zaccardi (2009), with whom she spent 20 wonderful years living with in Boca Raton, FL.

Claudette is survived by her sons Leonard Franco, Jr., Peter Franco Sr. and  Brian Franco, her brother Claude Geraud, her sisters Patricia Morris and Nancy Norrod, her granddaughter Lola Franco and her grandsons, Leonardo Franco, Peter Franco Jr., Luke Franco, Mason Franco, Casey Franco and Maddox Franco.

She will be reunited with her late  spouse Stephen Zaccardi, late sister, Joan Bechtold and late brother, Richard Geraud.

Claudette will be lovingly remembered by her sons, brother and sisters and her numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.  She will forever be remembered for being a kind and generous soul.  Her laugh, hugs, and love will be eternally missed.

A memorial service in honor of the life of Claudette will take place this Thursday, February 16th, from 4-8 PM at the Lawton-Turso Funeral Home.   Cremation services prior to the memorial service will be held privately.

  1. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I worked with Claudette for many years at the city and kept in touch on Facebook after retirement, this makes me so sad, but I know you’re with Steve and you’re in a better place. My condolences to her family.
