Thomas V. Callaghan, 83, entered eternal rest on Monday, March 20th, 2023.
Born on November 14th, 1939, in Brooklyn, NY to parents Thomas V. Callaghan (father) and Margaret Connors (mother).
He worked as IRS agent after graduating from St. John’s University, before starting his own CPA practice.
Tom enjoyed being a successful accountant in both NJ and NY for many years as well as being a philanthropist for catholic and educational causes.
Thomas’s father was an NYPD officer for many years and Margaret was a loving mother to Tom and his two sisters, Eileen Callaghan Halpin and Anne Callaghan.
He is survived by his wife, Sophie Pierog, whom he loved dearly for many years.
Thomas will be reunited with his parents, Thomas and Margaret as well as his two sisters, Eileen Callaghan Halpin and Anne Callaghan.
A funeral mass in honor of Thomas’s life will take place Friday March 24th at 11:00 AM, held at St. Mary Star of the Sea in Long Boat Key, Florida. A separate funeral mass will be held on Monday March 27th at 10:00 AM at Saint Peter and Paul Church in Hoboken, New Jersey. Following the mass, we will take Thomas to his final resting place at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.
