With many choices available to fit a variety of budgets, please review our pricing guide below for our general pricing information. For current discounts, promotions, or a more detailed review of our selections, you may call or schedule a visit with us. The following prices are current as of July 1, 2022.
If you or your loved one may be eligible for Medicaid/SSI benefits related to funeral expenses, we are very experienced at facilitating this process in Hudson County and around New Jersey.

Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff
Our minimum fee for the basic services provided by the funeral director and staff includes but is not limited to:
- Responding to the initial request for service
- Conducting the arrangement conference
- Preparation of the biographical and statistical data
- Examination of financial settlement options
- Preparation and filing of papers, permits, and authorizations
- Coordination with other service providers
- Preparation and placement of obituary notices
- Retention and care of remains prior to commencement of post death proceedings
Cost: $1, 795
The fee for basic service will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select.
This fee is already included in pricing for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.
Embalming (Including use of preparation room and sanitary care)
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require it, such as direct cremations or immediate burial.
If you choose to have embalming performed, the procedure may occur at a location other than this registered mortuary. See New Jersey code below:
No human remains may remain unburied or uncremated in New Jersey for more than 48 hours unless embalmed or refrigerated. (N.J.A.C 8:9-1.1)

Administrative Document Delivery
This fee covers the administrative procurement of documents, including death certificates ordered at a later date. This fee does not cover shipping of documents.

Our services include setup of the visitation area, placement of remains, positioning of floral displays, and supervision and attendance during the hours of visitation.

c. One full day visitation or part therof 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm: $1,595
2. Use of facilities, staff, and equipment for Funeral Ceremony
Our services include coordinating the arrangements for the ceremony, staff supervision and attendance, and the use of the funeral home when used for the memorial service.

3. Use of facilities, staff, and equipment for Memorial Service (without remains present)
Our services include coordinating the arrangements for the memorial service, staff supervision and attendance, and the use of the funeral home when used for the memorial service.

b. At other local facility (within 12 miles of Lawton-Turso Funeral Home): $1,595
4. Use of staff for Graveside Service (Whether at cemetery or crematory)
Our services include supervision, attendance, and accompaniment of the remains to the cemetery or crematory.

Pricing of Caskets, Urns, and Containers
Due to the changing availability of products, a current price list and description of products ranging in price and styles will be provided to you at the funeral home.
Other Merchandise and Services
Additional pricing will also be provided for products and services such as: prayer cards, acknowledgement cards, register books, name plates, grave markers, Rosaries, Crucifixes, and burial clothing.
Cash Disbursements
This list does not include prices for certain items that you may ask us to buy for you, such as crematory or crematory services, flowers, and newspaper notices. The prices for those items will be shown on your bill or the statement describing the funeral goods and services you selected.
Forwarding/Receiving Remains To/From Other Funeral Home
1. Forwarding: $3,056
This package charge includes removal of remains to other funeral home, basic services of funeral home director and staff, basic sheltering of remains, embalming, and obtaining necessary permits. It does not include a casket or alternative, or shipping container, the use of facilities and staff for any visitation or ceremony prior to forwarding remains or sheltering for days on which no post death proceedings occur. Nor does it include transferring remains to the airport, other destination, charges from a common carrier, or anything not expressly stated as being provided.
2. Receiving: $3,056
This package charge includes receiving from other funeral home, basic services of funeral home director and staff, basic sheltering of remains, obtaining necessary permits and authorizations, and local (within 10 miles of Lawton-Turso Funeral Home) transportation to cemetery or crematory. This charge does not include the use of facilities and staff for any visitation or ceremony, or sheltering for days on which no post death proceedings occur. Nor does it include transferring remains from the airport, other destination, charges from a common carrier, or anything not expressly stated as being provided.

Direct Burial
Our package charges for direct burial include basic services of funeral director and staff, the local (within 10 miles) transfer of remains to the funeral home, the basic sheltering of the remains, obtaining necessary permits and authorizations, sanitary care, preparation of remains for identification, and local transportation to cemetery. This charge does not include the use of facilities and staff for any visitation or ceremony, or any sheltering for days on which no post death proceedings occur. Nor does it include the actual cost of the grave at the cemetery, or the cemetery’s charges for opening or closing of the grave, any required outer burial container, cash disbursements, or anything not expressly stated as being provided.

Direct Cremation
Our package charges for direct cremation include basic services of funeral director and staff, the local (within 10 miles) transfer of remains to the funeral home, the basic sheltering of the remains, obtaining necessary permits and authorizations, sanitary care, preparation of remains for identification, and local transportation to the crematory. This charge does not include the use of facilities and staff for any visitation or ceremony, or any sheltering for days on which no post death proceedings occur. Nor does it include the actual cost of the cremation process, which is a crematory charge, cash disbursements, or anything not expressly stated as being provided.
If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the remains and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials. The containers we provide are a composition container or cardboard.
